Profile: The completion of the new seven-story Ambulatory Center marks the first phase of the University's mission to replace its aging hospital and clinical buildings with new, state-of-the-art facilities designed to accommodate inpatient hospital care for more than 92,000 people and nearly 1.7 million outpatient visits a year. The forward-thinking design for the new building embraces the principles of new urbanism as well as LEED principles of sustainability to create a new high-tech, higher density facility with a distinctly human focus.


Services: DataCom Design Group was selcted to provide a comprehensive technology plan and subsequent design to help guide the hospital in the master planning and system implementation of critical low-voltage communications systems. Services include technology, security, and audiovisual as well as acoustical consulting for various areas that required the consultation and recommendation of mechanical and interior sound control. In addition to the building technology, DataCom Design provided the design for the outside plant to assure campus communications connectivity and future capacity for new applications requiring greater bandwidth.
