Watt Family Innovation Center, Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina

Profile: DataCom Design Group was selected in a national search of design firms to create an intellectual center that will prepare a new generation of scholars to take ideas from concept to reality using 21st century technology. The guiding principle for the Center was to "design for innovation"-providing students and faculty access to e-learning platforms in a student-centered environment. The four-story building incorporates dynamic collaborative and visualization systems for research in Health, Engineering and Science. Multipurpose classrooms and meeting rooms share the space with workshops, design studios and offices. Industrial partners are represented in specialty labs for cyberfusion, simulator/emulator, visual analytics, and prototyping. WFIC is designed to LEED Silver certification standards.
