Profile: The Dell Pediatric Research Institute (DPRI) is The University of Texas at Austin's new state-of-the-art medical research facility that advances the understanding of childhood diseases and disorders. DPRI is located next door to the Dell Children's Medical Center on the site of the old Robert Mueller Airport in Central Austin. The facility provides research, laboratory, and office spaces that facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration between academic research, medical research, and clinical initiatives supporting the health and welfare of children. The Institute's main goal is to collaborate and provide programs and treatments to improve children's health. Faculty from the colleges of Natural Sciences and Pharmacy conduct research that enables advances in the areas of birth defects, brain injury, nutrition, epilepsy, autism, childhood obesity, and cancer.
