Hector P. Garcia Middle School, Dallas ISD, Dallas, Texas

Profile: This new middle school in a near-urban setting was designed to support and challenge the mind, providing the context for stimulating and interactive education. It serves 1,200 students in grades six through eight. In the evenings, the school library, gymnasium and auditorium are accessible to community residents. The teaching and learning space comprises 27 core academic and special education classrooms, an instructional technology classroom, a media center, and spaces for performing and visual arts, including a 500-seat auditorium. Each classroom includes a seamless-format audiovisual system that is controlled by the instructor.


Services: DataCom Design Group provided IT, AudioVisual, Acoustics, Cable TV, Security and Access Control (interior and exterior). DataCom designed an advanced wireless communication system to cover the entire campus
