San Jacinto Memorial Building, Houston Community College District, Houston, Texas

ProfileThe three-story San Jacinto Memorial Building was originally built in 1914, with major additions in the 1920s and 1930s. The new scope called for redesigning it as an administrative and academic classroom building. The project retains the original exterior, highlighting history at the same time it provides ultra-modern educational spaces: tiered classrooms, writing labs, computer labs, recording and testing rooms; plus private offices, workstations, a gymnasium, meeting rooms, and study lounges.
