Hewlett Packard, Atlanta, Austin, and Houston

Profile: HP consolidated 85 of their international Data Centers down to six -- two each in Atlanta, Austin, and Houston -- saving over $1 billion annually. The three Data Center locations were chosen based on availability and affordability of space, power, and network bandwidth, as well as a lower probability of impact from natural disasters.

The 500,000 SF complex in Houston, which also serves as a disaster recovery facility, underwent extensive renovation and expansion.

Services: DataCom Design Group provided technology consulting and acoustical noise control solutions for this massive Data Center. The scope of work included noise monitoring for the emergency generators.
