Francis Hall, Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas

ProfileIn a dramatic rehabilitation, this 1918 building was overhauled to become the first stand-along facility in Texas dedicated to Construction Science. And as befits its new purpose, the building showcases a state-of-the-art BIM Cave, specialty labs for estimating and surveying, a videoconferencing bid room, and safety lab. Exposed mechanical, electrical and structural systems make the building a virtual learning laboratory. A new multimedia auditorium, collaboration spaces and classrooms provide a supportive environment for students on academic competition teams.

The three-story structure retains a classically proportioned, concrete/brick/cast stone building featuring columns, faux balconies, pilasters and capitals, and a parapet wall.
