Research and Technology Park, The University of the Virgin Islands, St. Croix, Virgin Islands

Profile: Phase I was the first building on campus, designed as a flexible and cyber-smart host space to provide tenants with direct, high-speed access, a fiber optic cable network and both satellite and microwave links. These advanced capabilities give educators the critical technologies needed for on-site scientific research as well as connectivity for fully interactive remote learning applications. The Virgin Islands' first LEED-certified facility features an immersive video-conferencing system with wireless microphonics, flat panels and electronic whiteboards. Flexible fit-out space included classrooms, labs, a data center and offices; project included site infrastructure implemented concurrently.
